"UTK" PJSC continues to work on implementation of the priority national program "Education" in the Stavropol kray providing for promotion of hi-tech development programs to educational institutions. Within the framework of the state project «Provision of the Internet access to educational institutions of the Russian Federation» all schoolchildren in the Stavropol kray will be provided with Internet access within the next two years.

The Stavropol branch of "UTK" PJSC provides computer classrooms with communication channels, installs terminal equipment, provides unlimited round-the-clock access to the global network at a speed not lower than 128 Kbit/sec. At present UTK provided Internet access to 265 schools in the Stavropol kray, 34 of them located in Stavropol. By the end of 2006 "UTK" PJSC plans to connect 305 schools and other educational institutions in the Stavropol kray to the Internet, 217 of them in urban areas and 88 – in rural areas. By the end of 2007 the program is to be fulfilled when all 684 schools of the kray participating in the project are connected to the global network.
