As part of digital transformation concept implementation, Rosseti will develop its own industrial design of intelligent electricity metering devices based on the domestic hardware components.
The device development is carried out jointly with Roselectronics. Presentation of 3D-model of the upcoming metering device was held today at the SPIEF.
"Analysis of existing electricity metering devices, and devices collecting and transmitting data showed that the critical elements (microprocessors, data modems, memory, displays, power supplies) are being manufactured overseas which provides vulnerability to their protection system. The new development will be completely domestic, both in terms of software and components. This will establish the basis for extension of Russian enterprises, enhancing competitive performance of national economy, solving the problem of import substitution in the power industry," noted Alexander Pyatigor, Deputy General Director of the Rosseti Group. It is planned to complete the development of engineering specifications for the new line of metering devices in 2020.
Estimated requirement for the Rosseti's metering devices is more than 20 million units. Rosseti welcomes all the manufacturers including foreign ones that develop projects of local manufacturing content in Russia.
