On November 18th, 2009, results from  the 12th Annual Federal Competition of Annual Reports and Websites were released  at the 6th Federal Investment Forum. North-West Telecom won in the category:  "The Best Design, Printing and Idea for a 2008  Annual Report” and took  2nd place in the category:  "The Best Level of Information Disclosure in an  Issuer’s Annual Report". The corporate social responsibility report of North-West Telecom was  the winner in the category:  “The Best Corporate Social Responsibility Report.”

The contest was organized by Securities Market magazine and the MICEX Stock Exchange. The jury, besides the co-organizers, included representatives from:  the Russian Federation  Ministry of Finance, the Russian Federal Service for Financial Markets , rating agencies, self-regulatory organizations and design bureaus. All in all, 105 companies took part in the contest.

On  November 20th, 2009, results of the 12th Annual Competition of Annual Reports, which was organized by the RTS Stock Exchange, were released  and a ceremony awarding the winners was held. North-West Telecom won in the categories:  "The Best Disclosure in the Annual Report of Companies with Capitalization of 10 to 100 Billion Rubles" and "The Best Annual Report in the Telecommunications Sector of the Economy."

125 companies from almost all sectors of the economy and from all federal districts of Russia sent their works to the Contest. For the first time foreign companies - from Kazakhstan and Ukraine - participated in the contest, which used to be open only to Russian companies.

The purpose of the competition was to upgrade  information transparency, to present and promote corporate governance practices, as well to enhance the investment attractiveness of joint-stock companies and other organizations that participated in the competition.

Deputy General Manager for Corporate Relations Ella Tomilina noted that “North-West Telecom paid great  attention to developing a wide range of communication channels to interact with all concerned parties.  The Company  considers the annual report to be  one of the most important tools for maintaining a positive image in the investment community. The high scores given to our  annual report and corporate social responsibility report by the authoritative juries in  the competitions illustrated  that the Company had chosen the right direction, being guided by principles of maximum possible business transparency  and high social responsibility.”
