In May this year, during the scheduled inspection of social facilities by the South Production Department of Chuvashenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC it was revealed that 15.8 km of aluminum wire was stolen from out-of-service 0.4 kV high-voltage power line near Tyumerevo village. In the course of the prompt and qualified investigation by the police and Chuvashenergo security department a suspect was found. He lives in the Yantikovsky District, the Chuvash Republic, criminal proceedings against him have been initiated under Article 158, Part 1 of the RF Criminal Code. The investigation of the theft is continued, upon its completion the obtained materials will be submitted to court. This power transmission line was constructed in 1970 for the power supply of livestock breeding unit, today the line is out-of-service. If the facility is reconstructed, probable expenses, including estimated works, will amount to 256,141 thousand rubles – the sum which can be collected from the criminal through a court proceeding.
