NLMK Quality Management Systems meet international standards, BSI audit confirms

An annual audit by the British Standards Institution has confirmed that NLMK Lipetsk production site management systems comply with international standards. The auditors presented the Company with a new certificate of compliance with ISO 14001:2004, which specifies requirements for environmental management systems, and gave a positive review of the steps taken by NLMK to meet its commitments.

BSI auditors evaluated the Quality Management System (including automotive industry requirements); the Environmental Management System; the Occupational Health and Safety Management System; and the Energy Management System. In addition, auditors from the independent certification body inspected the sinter plants; the blast furnace and blast oxygen furnace operations; as well as the rolling, repair and auxiliary shops.

The integrated audit of all the management systems at NLMK Group’s main production site confirmed their full compliance with the following standards:

·         ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems – Requirements

·         ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Systems – Requirements

·         OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems – Requirements

·         ISO 50001:2011 Energy Management Systems – Requirements with Guidance for Use

·         ISO/TS 16949 Particular Requirements for the Application of ISO 9001:2008 for Automotive Production and Relevant Service Part Organizations
