In 2003, AO MOSENERGO increased the volume of maintenance works. Compared to 2002, these expenditures grew 34.1% and amounted to 11 billion rubles. The larger scale of the maintenance campaign allowed AO MOSENERGO to prepare its divisions for winter in full and on time.
AO MOSENERGO’s power stations prepared for winter peak load by fulfilling at 100% the plan for maintenance on 14 power units, 37 power boilers, 23 turbine generators, 16 peak water heating boilers and one water turbine. Almost all power stations carried out some extra maintenance. After the maintenance, the performance of most boilers and turbines improved and reached the required levels.
Last year, the Company also carried out maintenance on electrical equipment at powers stations. In particular, repairs were conducted on 33 turbine generators and 30 transformers. The company also repaired and upgraded the equipment that is used for its own needs at power stations.
In 2003, AO MOSENERGO also replaced 79.16 km of pipes (double lines) having exceeded the plan almost by 6.5%. During the summer maintenance the Company’s specialists detected and eliminated 4,653 defects and impaired joints. AO MOSENERGO carried out the maintenance and comprehensive testing of 22 pump stations.
The Company continued to improve reliability and upgrade high-voltage lines. AO MOSENERGO completed the comprehensive overhaul at 62 35-500 kV substations. In distribution grids the company repaired 1,725 km of 0.4-10 kV aerial lines, as well as 1,560 km of 6-10 kV cable lines and 1,015 transformers.
The maintenance campaign is the most important precondition of proper functioning of the system and reliable power supply for consumers in winter.
